16H Bay Gelding - Ran 35 Times - Wins 6 -  Trainer - Ed Dunlop | Green Desert — Dream Season  | Winner of the Wokingham Stakes at Royal Ascot 1999

Ed Dunlop had a lot of fun with him and he won a few good races for him including the Wokingham Stakes at Royal Ascot in 1999, ridden by Gary Carter.

He was also third in the John Smiths Listed race, but despite being highly rated he was unfortunately not of Group standard so it was decided that he would be retired at 6 years old. Famous jockeys to have ridden him include Keiron Fallon, Pat Eddery and Frankie Dettori, in fact Frankie rode him in his very last race.

After his retraining at the charity, Spacey went on to do Endurance. Despite doing well in his first season, after 8 months we decided it was in his best interest to return to us. He had suffered stress laminitis and had become very head shy and even to this day he will only let those who he really trusts to bridle him up.

His attitude in the stable is not always desirable, he can be a bit of a grump and seems to take an unreasonable dislike to some people who then become sport to him! We know that he is really a complete softie, and if you stand him down he is quite pathetic – easier said than done if he is gnashing his teeth at you!! However, his ridden work is exemplary, as long as you don't ask him to do any schooling or jumping.

SPACEY DIED IN JUNE 2017 AT THE AGE OF 22
